The new Custom game mode allows map makers to run their map with a bunch of custom settings via a custom config file. That means you can play mode variants like scoutzknivez and aim maps with their unique settings embedded right in the map. So, how many new game modes will Custom support? The name of the config file must be named the same as your bsp. If your map is run with Custom game rules but you don’t have a cfg file, it’ll run your map with Classic Casual rules instead. When you upload your map to the workshop, your cfg file will automatically get packed into your bsp file, so don’t worry about packing it yourself. See the SDK for more examples of this. Lots of stuff! New textures, new models, new sounds and most importantly for custom gameplay you can ship vscript files.

The game pits two teams against each other: the Terrorists and the Counter-Terrorists. Both sides are tasked with eliminating the other while also completing separate objectives. As we bid farewell to Operation Shattered Web, Valve reveals the next surprise that they had in store for us to keep ourselves occupied in this quarantine period. Anubis and Chlorine are in, and Breach and Studio are rotating out. The two maps are added in Casual, Deathmatch and Scrimmage modes before we see them in Competitive. Anubis is themed around an ancient Egyptian temple of the death god Anubis, with a color tone similar to that of Mirage, while Chlorine is set in a modern-day abandoned safari park, the map is timed towards the evening and has a lot going on for it.

Cache, a favorite in the CSGO competitive map pool, is currently being remade, and we now have a rough estimate of when the reworked map is going to be released to the public. On March 29, Cache was removed from the active duty competitive map pool of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and replaced with Vertigo. Like many maps before it, Cache was removed so that the original creator could begin the process of re-working it. Release date will be shortly after New York.
We will process feedback from the event first before public release. Wisely, it appears that FMPONE is waiting for community feedback from fans and pro players before releasing the reworked map. We can estimate that the new Cache will be released to the public in early October.
CS:GO map Workout removed from official matchmaking, two new maps added
A new CSGO update has removed two maps, Jungle and Swamp, from community matchmaking as well as adding two brand new ones into the mix. In addition to the maps, devs also removed the option to turn off Trusted Mode. The mode has caused some trouble for users of some software, but the developers also added a new launch command to help take off some of that pressure. In the past, turning off Trusted Mode has negatively affected a player’s Trust Factor.
It’s possible this is still the case, so players should be warned of the possibility before using the new launch option. Mutiny and Swamp are now live in CSGO, and they’re both impressive efforts from community map creators.
